Since
I've been learning chinese, I was often amazed
on how the vocabulary is built. Chinese language
being build with subtile association of ideas/keys,
most single words in westen languages are translated
with a combination of 2 or 3 characters (associated
ideas) which are either a translation of meaning
or sometimes a pure phonetic translation coming
from other languages. I found it becomes kind
of funny for a western mind when you translate
these chinese keys back to english word by word,
and it actually brings some clues to understand
more about some practical chinese ways of thinking.
Hereunder are some of the most interesting examples
I could find and be suggested to post.
